On 4th August, 2023, a technical talk on "Generative AI for Education: An Overview" was organized by the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) in association with IEEE, EMBS, AESS, and FESA at the E-learning Centre of P A College of Engineering. The event commenced at 10:50 am and concluded at 12:15 pm and was organised specifically for second-year students. The event was welcomed and introduced by Mr. Sahil Fardeen, a 4th semester Mechanical engineering student.

The distinguished speaker for the talk was Dr. Saif Abrar, an Advisory System Engineer at IBM. He delivered a comprehensive presentation, shedding light on artificial intelligence and its recent advancements, with a specific focus on generative AI technologies. A highlight of the talk was the live demonstration of Chat GPT, where Dr. Saif Abrar showcased its practical applications and potential in the field of education.

The technical talk proved to be an engrossing and interactive session, fostering engaging discussions among the participants about the cutting-edge developments in Chat GPT application and its relevance in the educational domain.

In his address to the gathering, Dr. Ramis M. K., Principal, emphasized the significance of embracing new technologies for innovative learning. He motivated the students to seize the opportunities provided by AI and other emerging technologies to enhance their educational journey. The event was well-attended with several faculty members from various departments of the college.

Dr. Maruthi Prashanth B H expressed a formal vote of thanks to Dr. Saif Abrar and all the participants for making the event successful. The resource person, Dr. Abrar, was honoured with a memento, presented by Dr. Ramis M. K., as a token of appreciation.
