SCR Exhibition: Art, Heritage tour and Food lore

The SCR (Social Connect Responsibility) one day event and exhibition (Art, Heritage tour and food lore) was organized by P. A. College of Engineering, at PACE auditorium on 28-1-2023 at 11:00 AM. It was an exhibition to showcase the talents of third semester engineering students.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Dayananda Naik, Associate Professor, Dept. of Political Science, Mangalore University. The programme coordinator, Dr. Chandana B. R., Assistant Professor, EC Dept., PACE, Mangaluru welcomed the gathering and delivered the prelude of the programme. Prof. Asif Raibagh, Dept. of Computer Science , introduced the chief guest to the gathering. The chief guest and the guest of honour Mr. Sharfuddin P.K., AGM (Campus), PAET, were welcomed by offering a sapling.
The chief guest spoke gave the message that students must be able to develop the connectivity with society and nature, be responsible engineers and live responsibly in the society. He also encouraged students to address the societal problems and urged them to answer them by providing innovative solutions to them. He congratulated the students and asked them to be aware of rich cultural background and history of the regional places where they come from and asked them to study about culinary practices, the materials used in cooking, know its importance in ensuring a healthy food habits. The chief guest was felicitated by AGM (campus), PAET.
The Vice-Principal, Dr. Sharmila Kumari, appreciated the efforts of students in showcasing their creativity and motivated them to exhibit such talents through their active participation. Prof. Ismail Shaafi, Co-Scholastic Coordinator proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Sayyed Ameen, Dean (Student Affairs), Heads of various departments , teaching and non-teaching members were present on the occasion. Ms. Shabeeba (Dept of biotechnology) compered the programme.
There were 23 stalls altogether allotted to the third year engineering students of all the departments. Mr. Mohammed Faisal, Head, CPOD and Prof. Deepthi Udayawar, Dept. of Commerce and Management were the judges for the exhibition of stalls. They evaluated based on creativity, neatness (art), presentation and background study (heritage) and presentation and healthy diet (food lore) under the three categories. The stalls were visited by staffs and students of PACE, P. A. College of Pharmacy, P. A. College of Physiotherapy and P. A. First Grade College.
The valedictory programme was conducted at 3pm in the PACE auditorium. Dr. Saleemulla Khan, Principal, P. A. College of Pharmacy was the chief guest. Mr. Nihad, 3rd Semester, AIML, welcomed the gathering and compered the programme. Dr. Chandana B. R. briefed the report about the things that transpired on the SCR one day event and exhibition. The judges gave their valuable feedback on the occasion. They were felicitated by the chief guest. The students with the best presentation among the different stalls received accolade with cash prize. The chief guest explained that the students should always be connected to their roots, regional places and adopt a healthy food style and practices. He highlighted that it’s important to emphasize on local production and be away from fast food. Continuing he also said one should also know the medicinal value of the plants grown in their courtyard and increase the intake of homemade medicines to cure and to heal certain ailments. The chief guest was felicitated by Vice Principal. Prof. Nishitha (Dept. of AIML) proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was well coordinated by Prof. Asif Raibagh and Prof. Ankitha, Dept of CS, Prof Safa and Prof. Kavyashree, Dept. of Civil, Prof. Chethan and Kiran, Dept. of Mechanical, Prof . Nishitha and Prof. Mashitha, Dept. of AIML, Prof. Shabeeba (Dept. of Biotechnology ) headed by Dr. Chandana B. R( Dept. of EC).
