First Year Induction Program 2022 Batch - 1st Sem

P.A College of Engineering welcomed the First Year Students of the Academic Year 2022-23 on 9th November 2022. The students along with their parents gathered in the Edusat Hall for the Induction Programme to be held from 9 -16 November 2022.
Introductory Session was briefed by Mr Ismail Shaffi, Hod, Department of Physics and Coordinator Co-Scholastic Activity PACE. In his Introductory speech he welcomed the parents and students and congratulated students for opting Engineering course in PA college of engineering and briefed the history of the college, procedure for the day along with faculty introduction.
The students were split up into 2 groups for various sessions to be held thereafter from 09/11/2022 to 16/11/2022
Day 1: 9/11/2022
The session for group 1 was taken by Mr Vittal Bhat, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication, PA College of Engineering on the topic ‘Self Awareness’
The session for group 2 was taken by Ms Michelle Dsouza, Assistant Professor, Department of English, PA College of Engineering on the topic ‘‘Building Communication Skills’.
The afternoon session was dealt by Dr Surfraz J Hasim, Principal, P.A Degree College on ‘Mind Engineering’ and Universal Human Values by Dr Chandana, Department of Electronics & Communication, PA College of Engineering.
180 students actively attended the Induction programme and were enthusiastic about the fresh academic year and the tasks that will laid down for them in the coming days.

DAY 2: 10/11/2022
The morning session was taken by Mr Aboobacker Shameez, Co-Founder of "Oh harvest Ohsoul,and alumini of PA College of Engineering on the topic ‘What makes an Entrepreneur’, Ms Michelle Dsouza, Assistant Professor , Department of English, PA College of Engineering on the topic ‘ ‘Building Communication Skills’ and by Dr Surfraz J Hasim, Principal ,P.A Degree College on ‘Mind Engineering’
After noon session was taken by Mr. Faisal, head- Centre for professional and organizational development PACE on Soft Skills and an activity on Micro bit conducted by Embedded club Pace by Shabnaz 3rd year CSE .

The morning session was taken by Dr. Sayyad Ameen Ahammad Dean Student Affairs and Director MBA on the topic leadership skills., Mr Vittal Bhat, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication ,PA College of Engineering on the topic ‘Self Awareness’ .
After noon session was taken by Dr. Abdul Khader, former Principal, KPT on on the topic Self-Analysis and study skills

DAY 4: 12/11/2022
Session was taken by Mr Shameer Syed, Senior Manager, Del Technologies Bangalore presented and interacted on the topic ‘Being Curious by narrating his own journey from academic to corporate ,how curiosity towards English as a language and computers as a subject turned his life.

DAY 5: 14/11/2022
To explore the talents of students Talent hunt was conducted on 14th November morning session which includes pick and speak, mehendi, collage, wealth our of waste . pencil sketch, calligraphy.
Glug club member Mr. Shakeel Ahammmed of 3rd CSE conducted a session onMetaverse-a virtual world.

DAY 6: 15/11/2022
The morning session was taken by Dr. Sayyad Amenn Ahammad Dean Student Affairs and Director MBA on the topic leadership skills., Dr. Rashmi Kodikal , Professor, Graphic Era university, Deharadun, spoke on Stress Management by Art therapy. She spoke on how art can be used as a healing power to overcome challenges, Mr. Faisal, Head- centre for professional and organizational development PACE delivered a talk on Soft Skills
After noon session was taken by Mrs. Rasheeda Banu , Assistant Professor P.A first Grade College on the topic Social Commitment, , Ms Michelle Dsouza, Assistant Professor , Department of English, PA College of Engineering on the topic Emotional Intelligence

As a token of our appreciation mementos were presented to all the resource persons who joined their hands for the successful completion of first year induction program 2022-23
VALEDICTORY OF FIRST YEAR INDUCTION PROGRAMME
The valedictory programme of the first year induction programme for the Academic Year 2022-23 was held on 17 November 2022 in the E Learning Centre
The dignitaries present were Dr Ramis M K, Principal , Dr Sharmila Kumari, Vice Principal, Dr Mitra K , Hod, Dept of Mathematics, Mr Abdul Majid, Hod First year, Mr Ismail Shaffi Hod , Department of Physics, Dr Mohammed Ismail, Hod, AI&ML and Mr Mohammed Faizal ,Hod CPOD.
The report of the Induction programme was read by Mr Abdul Majid and students were addressed on Off Campus Induction programme by Mr Mohammed Faizal.
Ms Shri Gowri, Trainer from Spoken Tutorials ,IIT,Bombay spoke to the students regarding the importance of language of English and briefed them about the courses they offer.
The principal address the students regarding off campus induction program directed by VTU for the overall development of the students. He urged them to visit orphanage’s, old age homes, hospitals to contribute to the society as a value of concern and social service.
Prizes for students were distributed for the activities organized during Talent Hunt.
Students were asked to fill in their feedback forms and winded up the programme with instructions for the upcoming semester.
