The Department of Training & Placement, P. A. College of Engineering, in association with Computer Society of India and GLUG organized an invited talk on “Free Open Source Software: Its uses and Opportunities” by Mr. Mohammed Kasim Khan, Project Manager National Mission of Education through ICT, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, IIT Bombay for students of 2nd year Engineering at PACE on 23/07/2022 at 3pm in Multipurpose hall. Dr. Ramis M. K., Principal, Dr. Sharmila Kumari, Vice Principal, Prof. Hussain, TPO, Department Faculties, Training and placement executive were present during the program.
The program started with the prayer by Prof. Saifuddhin. Prof. Nishanth Narayan from the department of CSE welcomed the gathering. The Principal Dr. Ramis M. K. introduced the speaker and gave the introductory remark.
Mr Mohammed Kasim Khan in his interaction explained the various Free Open Source Software, Open Source methodologies, case studies with real life examples. He also urged the students to use the open source software and avail the benefit of it. He put forth various Internship opportunities provided by IIT Bombay for the students across the country. Students also interacted well in the program. The program was well received by the crowd. Prof. Mohammed Hussain proposed Vote of Thanks. Prof. Ankitha from the department of CSE mastered the ceremony.
