An invited talk on Training on soft skills and leveraging social media was organized on 04th February, 2022 by Centre for Management Studies and Research, P.A College of Engineering Mangalore. The session was conducted with the objective of developing the soft skills necessary for enhancing employability and entrepreneurial abilities of the students. Mr. Sachin R. Chandra, presently serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce at Manipal Academy of Higher Education was the resource person. Ms. Ayshath Harshida, student, final year MBA, welcomed the gathering and also introduced the resource person to the audience. Dr. Sayyed Ameen Ahmed, Director, Centre for Management Studies and Research, PACE addressed the students and put forward how social medias have influenced people in their day-to-day life. The resource person Mr. Sachin R. Chandra described the key attributes of soft skills including, attitude, confidence, communication, body language and attire with very good examples and analogies. While addressing the students he quoted the names of great personalities and their achievements and also recommended some books for reading which may actually help the participants to redefine themselves. He also discussed how social media can be best utilized to enhance employability and urged all students to create a LinkedIn account which connects world’s professionals and helps to find right job or internship.
