Department of Civil Engineering organized students webinar series - 2021 under the banner of IEI (Institution of Engineers India) and FORCE (Fraternity Of Raising Civil Engineers). The fourth webinar was conducted on July 6. Dr. Palakshappa K., HOD, Civil Engineering highlighted the importance of remote sensing and GIS application in landslide and other disaster management and also mentioned the importance of stability of slopes and soil using soil nailing. Shreelakshmi A N, a student from final year Civil Engineering delivered a webinar on “Landslide Risk Mapping Using Remote Sensing & GIS”, in particular with recent floods and land-slides that happened in Madikeri. Khadeejath Rizmin from final year Civil Engineering presented on necessity, importance and applications of “Soil Nailing” in stability of slopes and soil.

Alimathu Safuvana from 8th Sem was the Student Coordinators. Prof. Chethan K, Assistant Professor was the Staff Coordinator.

All the staff and students had participated in the webinar.
