Report on World Water Day

P.A. College of Engineering celebrated World Water Day on 22 March, 2021 under the aegis of NSS Unit and ISTE to highlight the importance of water and raise the awareness on the global water crisis. Around 200 students along with faculty members attended the event. World’s Water Conservation Awareness Week will be celebrated during March 22-27, with activities like invited talk, water saving plans and poster presentation competitions.
The event was presided by the Principal Dr. Ramis MK and during his address, encouraged the students to save water at individual, college and community level. He also emphasized on the need for to be more focussed on Academics in the coming days. Addressing the gathering, the resource person Dr. Palakshappa K, HOD Department of Civil Engineering, PACE stressed on water conservation measures as around 75% of the planet is covered with water and two thirds of the world’s population suffer from severe water shortages for at least one month per year.
Vice Principal Dr. Sharmila Kumari, Director (MBA) Dr. Sayyad Ameen, Prof Ismail S NSS Coordinator, HODs of various departments were present during the program.
Mr. Ikhlaas compered the programme. Ms. Disha welcomed the gathering. Mr. Siman introduced the guest and Ms. Fareeha proposed the vote of thanks.
