Department of Computer Science Engineering, P.A.College of Engineering Mangalore, organized an online six days AICTE sponsored Short Term Training Program on ?Machine Learning for Societal Applications? This program was inaugurated by Prof. P. Nagabhushan, Director, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh on 24th August 2020 using Google Zoom platform. The Founder Chairman of the Institution Dr. P A Ibrahim Haji and Executive Director Mr. Abdulla Ibrahim, PAET graced the occasion as Guests of Honour. The Principal of our College, Dr. Abdul Sharief presided over the programme. 

 Prof. Nagabhushan, in his inaugural speech highlighted the need of these kinds of programmes and encouraged the participants to actively participate actively in such training programs. The inauguration is followed by the Keynote address on Machine learning and its applications in society by Prof. Nagabhushan, where he highlighted various live problems in Machine Leaning. He advised the researcher to focus on these problems to get the solutions. Dr. P A Ibrahim Haji, The Founder Chairman, PAET, enlighten the participants and organizers with his encouraging words. Dr. P A Ibrahim Haji, appreciated all faculty members for their effort to get research, FDP, STTP and project funds from Funding agencies. 

The Vice Principal, Dr. Ramis M.K., Director Academics, Dr. Surfraz Hasim, Dean Research Dr. Zahid Ansari, Head of the Department and convener of the STTP program Dr. M Sharmila Kumari, Staff coordinators Prof. Mohammed Hafeez M. K., Prof. Ganesh Pai, Prof. Muhammad Saifudeen were present in the inaugural program.

PACE, Mangaluru, Dr. T Nagabhushan, Professor and Principal, SJCE, Mysuru, Dr. R Dinesh, Scientist, Samsung R&D, Bangalore, and Dr. H S Nagendraswamy, Professor, Department of Computer Science, University of Mysore.

There are 120 participants from various academic institutions and industries from different parts of India registered in this online training program. Entire training program was well attended and appreciated by the participants.
