Department of Civil Engineering organised Webinar Week 2020 (29th June 2020 ? 4th July 2020) under the banner of FORCE (Fraternity Of Rising Civil Engineers). The 4th day webinar was conducted on 2nd July 2020 on ZOOM platform along with video live streaming on YouTube. The speaker for the webinar was Dr. Palakshappa K, Professor & Head, Department of Civil Engineerng, PACE, Mangaluru and the topic was Green Buildings and Sustainability.
Er. Praveen Suvarna, Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering, PACE, was the host and coordinator of the webinar has delivered the welcome speech and introduced the resource person and briefed the signifinace of the topic. Dr. Palakshappa K has highlighted the important feautures of green buildings, how to make green buildings, history of green buildings, rating of green buildings, benefits and how designers, builders, policy makers and all stake holders can involve in green buiding movement in the days to come. He also shared experience of his association in construction his own brother house, with green building features. The concepts covered during the presentation was an eye-opener for the many students (Future Engineers of Nation) for their contribution in making of Green Building for Sustainability. At the end of the session the questions raised by the participants were well received and replied by the speaker. The program was concluded by vote of thanks from final year civil engineering student, Ms. Ramseena.
