Webinar Week 2020 Organised in pandemic situation by Civil Engineering Deparment, PACE, Mangaluru, conducted a webinar on the topic Sustainable Water Resourses Management by the resource person Dr. Shubha Avinash, Scienticfic Officer ? Hydrology, Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Control (KSNDMC), Bengaluru on 01/07/2020.

Water is not only essential to sustain life, but also to support ecosystems, economic development, community well being and cultural values. Now a days, its very complex in our society to maintain the water as population is increasing, water will be prime for all the sectors like irrigation and agricultural purposes. In the recent past years 2018 and 2019, there was a huge loss due to flood in urban areas. The talk was about the research organisation KSNDMC, Bengaluru in which the activities to save water and to identify the rainfall areas, Monitoring the drought situation in state, Significance of rainfall, losses due natural disasters, weather data collection and analysis, customised weather forecast and advises to farmers, permanent seismic monitoring stations network of Karnataka, mitigation model, urbanization, flood vulnerability, systematic inventory of lakes and drainage patterns, urban flood projects, integrated approach towards urban floods, Bengaluru Megha Sandesha (mobile app), high density sensor network to monitor rainfall, steps involved in flood mapping, flood forecasting system in Bengaluru, rescue and rehabilitation work during time of flood disasters, significance of rainfall trends, understanding hydrological and climatical changes, policy impact assessment using tools, non structural mitigation measure for floods in the city, initiation and installing of Rain Water Harvesting, soil nature to identify recharge of rain water, equipments used for the study, achievements of KSNDMC in urban development, Further the reports available of required areas are considered for investigation of flood, Development and Information about the application of rainfall prediction for Bengaluru region, Detailed study of urban planning and water resourse management was well eplained.

It was an great opportunity for all the participants to aquire the set of informations about Sustainable Water Resourses Management.
