Prof. Vittal Bhat M along with Final year students attended Institution of Engineers (India) sponsored All India workshop on "Design of Solar PV Power System for Rural Applications" at SRM University Chennai on 28th and 29th March 2019. The topics covered in the workshop were Basics of solar PV Plant, detailed design and operation of Stand-alone system as well as Grid tied solar PV system & hands on demo on solar PV based water pumping system.
Final year students accompanied by Prof. Vittal Bhat M visited a "100 kW Grid connected Solar PV Power plant" at Chennai on 30th March 2019. The students could assess the site of installation and brief out the practical aspects of difficulty in integration of distributed generating system to the grid.
