Department of Computer Science and Engineering of P.A. College of Engineering, Mangalore conducted a session on Industry Internship Program for the third year students. Mr. Vivek from HPE Solutions, Mangalore was the key speaker of the session. Prof. Mohammed Hafeez M K was coordinated this program, The speaker highlighted the current status of the software industry and what they expect from a Computer Science and Engineering Graduates. He said the software industries are emerging to support the upcoming digital business and its underlying technology platforms and IT practices. Technology is rooted in everything. Digital technologies such as mobile, social media, smart phones, python, nodejs, reactjs, big data, predictive analytics, and cloud etc touch the customers directly and that interaction creates a source of digital difference that matters for the design and development of the product.
He also conveyed the students that the companies are searching for ways to cut costs while at the same time grow capabilities that are core to their future growth. Technology has been growing so exponentially over recent years, that there has been a steadily increasing demand for bright graduates to come in and help to transform areas ranging from data infrastructure to cyber security. A student interested in pursuing a career in computer science, it is utmost important to stay up to date with the latest trends in computer science research, to make an informed choice about where to head next. He suggested that knowing everything in the world where the technology is exponentially growing on day to day base is impossible. But every student can make an effort to know the fundamentals of the upcoming trending technologies, so that they stand unique in the competitive world.
