Educational Trust (R), in association with Mangaluru city police and Vijaya
Karnataka has organized anti-drug and anti-ragging campaign in P.A. College of
Engineering auditorium on Monday, August 6. About 1500 students from P.A
College of Engineering, P.A. Polytechnic and P.A. First Grade College have
participated in this campaign. In his chief guests address Mr. Rama Rao,
A.C.P, Mangaluru South Division, said that the police department is fully
vigilant to eradicate the evil of drugs. Resource person of the campaign, Mr. Jojo
Joseph addressed the students not to spoil their future life by getting
attracted towards the drugs. Ullal Circle Inspector Mr. Ashok Kumar shared his
experiences by giving the case studies of the youth who have become the victim
of drugs and facing police enquiries. Konaje Sub Inspector Mr. Pawar explained
the students about the levels of punishment that could be given to the people
who have involved in ragging and anti-social activities of drugs. The campaign
was presided by Dr. Ramis M.K, Vice Principal, P. A. College of Engineering.
Mr. Aravind from Vijaya Karnataka, Mr. Surfraz Hasim J, Academic Director of
P.A. Educational Trust institutions, Prof. K.P. Soofi, Principal, P.A.
Polytechnic, Prof. Zohara Abbas, Principal, P.A. First Grade College, Student
Welfare Officers, Heads of various departments were present in the campaign.
Prof. Mohammed Avvad welcomed the gathering. Prof. Muriel proposed the vote of
thanks. Prof. U.H Shafil compered the programme.
