This report is the brief highlights of the session.
The invited talk was conducted with a main aim of
motivating the students by providing an insight and proper guidance to them
regarding the industry. The programme commenced with the welcome note for Mr
Akbar Arakkal by our final year student Ashwin kumar. The resource person Mr Akbar Arakkal an
Industry Expert (who has already interacted with our students) has given the
consent to have a session with our present final year students, 2018 passed out
students and faculty members regarding their career from an Industry Perspective. As a first step
of this initiative he wanted to have a face to face interaction with students
and interested faculty members. It all
started with a scintillating ice breaker which made the students to shook of
their heads. The students began to think regarding the purpose of Engineering
and understood the importance of setting goals which would ultimately leads
them to success.
He then moved on to share the experiences he faced
in his field of oil and petroleum. The hard work, determination, perseverance and
struggle which he had to conquer in his life to lead a successful life. The
session went much more interesting with the real time examples and case
studies. He even described the hierarchy of any industry which consists of
vendors, sub contractors, and end-users. And then continued with fields of
industry where they could focus upon in order to make them self sufficient with
employability and which would eventually build their curriculum vitae. The
students were highly motivated by his inspirational speech and felt themselves
with vast potential.
There was an interactive session too where the eager students asked questions regarding the career options they have and regarding the courses they can pursue in order to narrow the gap between academics and industry and that should keep everyone fit enough to face the competition outside. Dr Ramis M.K, Vice principal, presented a memento as the token of respect and appreciation to Mr Akbar Arakkal. The program got concluded with the vote of thanks by our final year student Saud. The program was highly beneficial for the outgoing students which have broken their nutshell and to come out flourishing in the society.
