Seminar on water Conservation
Nov 14, 2024 - Nov 15, 2024
As part of the Social Connect and Responsibility (SCR) program, SCR Committee in collaboration with the Civil Engineering Department the 3rd-semester students, participated in a water conservation activities on 14th and 15th November 2024. The initiative aimed to provide us with practical knowledge about sustainable water management and conservation techniques, focusing on recycling and reusing wastewater.
The activity began with an enlightening session by a guest speaker Dr. Palakshappa K, who shared insights on the importance of conserving water, the challenges of water scarcity, and innovative methods for treating and reusing wastewater. This session helped us understand how such practices play a critical role in creating a sustainable future. This followed by site visit where Prof. Jameela, Prof. Safa Sana and Prof. Kavyashree gave a detail expiation of each process taking g place STP and brief elaborative explanation of rainwater harvesting.
After the talk, students were divided into groups and taken on a visit within the PACE campus to observe practical examples of wastewater recycling. Wastewater from the campus is treated and reused for irrigation and other non-potable purposes was observed. The practical demonstration showed the working process of these systems and highlighted their importance in reducing water wastage.
This activity not only enhanced understanding of water conservation techniques but also inspired to think of ways we can contribute to sustainability. It was a great learning experience that emphasized teamwork, practical application of concepts, and the importance of taking responsibility for environmental preservation.
