Oct 21, 2024 - Oct 23, 2024

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, in collaboration with the IME (Ignited Minds of Electronics) Club, successfully organized a three-day workshop, "VLSI 1.0," from October 21 to 23, 2024. Under the guidance of Dr. Asif Hassan, Head of the Department, and expert coordination by Dr. Asiya Hazareena, the workshop equipped participants with comprehensive VLSI design skills.
The workshop featured resource person Haleemath Bushaira and student representatives Kavya G., Ayesha Suhaila, and Bhoomika H. Held in the VLSI Lab, the program covered VLSI fundamentals, design flow, evaluation criteria, and hands-on digital design of a 4-bit adder on Day 1. Day 2 focused on lambda design rules, transfer characteristics of inverters, and analog inverter design using Cadence Virtuoso. The final day included analog inverter design, back annotation, and GDS file generation, culminating in a quiz to reinforce concepts.
The valedictory program saw Dr. Asif Hassan commend students enthusiasm, while Principal Dr. Ramis M. K emphasized VLSI chip designs importance in todays digital landscape. Resource persons received certificates, and coordinators were recognized. Participants praised the engaging sessions and practical knowledge gained, acquiring essential skills for future VLSI endeavours.
