Blockchain Workshop: Enhancing Skills for the Future
Oct 7, 2024 - Oct 9, 2024
The Blockchain Workshop, held from October 7-9, 2024, was a value-added course designed to enhance the skills of final-year students, organized by the Placement Department-PACE, IEEE-CIS-PACE, IEEE-CS-PACE, CSE Department-PACE, and AIML Department-PACE. The coordinators, Dr. Sayed Abdulhayan, Dr. Zakir Bellary, and Prof. Hussain, ensured the smooth execution of the program.
The workshop took place at Computer-Centre-II (Unix Lab) and was led by Resource Person Dr. Lohith J.J. The three-day program aimed to provide hands-on experience in blockchain technology and its applications.
Dr. Lohith J.J introduced the concept of blockchain, its necessities, and Ethereum on the first day, providing participants with a solid understanding of the fundamentals. The second day focused on smart contracts, Ganache, Remix-Ethereum-IDE, and MetaMask, with participants being enrolled in MetaMask, setting the stage for practical applications.
On the final day, participants developed smart contracts for real-world applications, such as election voting and agriculture supply chain management, using Ganache, Remix-Ethereum-IDE, and MetaMask. The workshop concluded with a Q&A session, where Dr. Lohith J.J addressed participants queries, followed by a valedictory function marking the successful completion of the workshop.
The program achieved its objectives by enhancing participants understanding of blockchain technology and its applications, providing hands-on experience with smart contracts, Ganache, Remix-Ethereum-IDE, and MetaMask, and developing skills in creating smart contracts for real-world problems.
The workshop equipped final-year students with industry-relevant skills, fostered collaboration between departments and industry experts, and provided a platform for participants to explore blockchain-based solutions. The organizers extend gratitude to Dr. Lohith J.J for sharing his expertise and to the participating students for their enthusiasm. Special thanks to the coordinating team for ensuring the workshops success.
