On 25th September 2024, the Department of AIML at P.A. College of Engineering conducted a Social Connect and Responsibility activity, focusing on a plantation drive for 3rd-semester students. The aim of this event was to promote environmental consciousness among the students. Thirteen teams were formed, with each team tasked with planting a variety of plants, including flowering, fruit-bearing, and medicinal species, at designated spots across the campus.

The plantation drive was overseen by faculty members, Prof. Ranjitha Rosario and Prof. Nazreen, along with Mr. Rudresh, the Campus Supervisor. They provided guidance throughout the planting process. After the plantation, Mr. Rudresh led a tour of the campus’s plantation areas, where he explained the significance of the various plants, their role in supporting ecological balance, and the efforts needed to sustain them.

This initiative not only beautified the campus but also fostered a deeper sense of environmental responsibility and teamwork among students. By participating in this activity, students gained practical knowledge about environmental sustainability and were encouraged to take an active role in preserving green spaces for a healthier environment.
