Social Connect and Responsibility Activity: Plantation Drive by CSE Students

Department of Computer science and Engineering, P. A. College of Engineering organized a Social Connect and Responsibility activity focusing on a plantation drive for 3rd Semester on  9 September 2024  and 18 September 2024 to encourage environmental awareness among the students.
The students were divided into 25 teams, with each team planting a different type of plant at designated locations across the campus, including flowering plants, fruit plant, and medicinal plants. The activity was supervised by Ms Vaishnavi K B, Ms Salwa Saniya and Mr Rudresh-Campus Supervisor, who guided the students through the plantation process with the help of Mr Gafoor, gardener and shared valuable insights about the importance of greenery and conservation. After plantation Mr Rudresh led a tour of the entire campus plantation area, explaining the significance of various plants, their role in maintaining ecological balance, and the efforts required to sustain them.
In conclusion, the tree planting event not only beautified the campus but also strengthened the bond among students and fostered a commitment to environmental stewardship. Participants reflected on the significance of their efforts, recognizing that each tree planted is a step toward a healthier planet. This initiative serves as a reminder of the power of collective action and the importance of nurturing our campus environment. As students move forward, they are inspired to engage in more sustainable practices and contribute to the ongoing greening of their community.
