Department of Biotechnology, P A College of Engineering organized a Social Connect and Responsibility activity focusing on a plantation drive for 3rd Sem on 17 September 2024 to encourage environmental awareness among the students. 

The students were divided into 3 teams, with each team planting a different type of plant at designated locations across the campus, including flowering plants, fruit plant, and medicinal plants. The activity was supervised by Prof Shabeeba V and Mr Rudresh- Campus Supervisor, who guided the students through the plantation process with the help of Mr Gafoor gardenenr and shared valuable insights about the importance of greenery and conservation.

After plantation Mr Rudresh led a tour of the entire campus plantation area, explaining the significance of various plants, their role in maintaining ecological balance, and the efforts required to sustain them.The event not only enhanced the campus’s greenery but also created greater awareness of the critical role individuals play in protecting the environment also effectively promoted social responsibility, teamwork, and practical knowledge about environmental sustainability, inspiring students to contribute to a greener campus and understand the value of maintaining green spaces.
