First year Induction Program for First-Year Students-2024 at PA College of Engineering, Mangalore

The induction program for the first-year students of PA College of Engineering, Mangalore, was held on 17th September 2024, marking the commencement of their academic journey. The event began with a mentor-mentee meeting at 9:00 AM, followed by the formal orientation program at 10:00 AM. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as students, faculty members, and distinguished guests gathered to welcome the new batch of 2024.
The event opened with a motivational quote: "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. As you begin this new chapter, let your passion ignite your journey and your dreams guide you to extraordinary heights." These words set the tone for the day, inspiring the students to dream big and seize the opportunities ahead.
To begin the program, the gathering sought blessings from the Almighty with a beautiful Qiraat recitation by a student from the Mechanical Engineering department.
Following the invocation, Dr. Sharmila Kumari, Vice Principal and Head of the Department of Computer Science, warmly welcomed the new students, dignitaries, faculty, and parents.
The orientation program featured insightful speeches from several esteemed faculty members and dignitaries, each playing a pivotal role in the students’ academic and personal growth:
Prof. Abdul Majeed, Head of the First Year Department, addressed the audience, outlining the support systems in place to guide students as they adapt to the new environment and rigorous academic curriculum. He emphasized the importance of laying a strong foundation in their first year, which would shape their future success.
Dr. Surfraz J. Hasim, Principal of PA First Grade College, inspired the students with his motivational words. Drawing from his vast experience as an educator, mind trainer, psychologist, and success coach, Dr. Hasim encouraged the students to develop a positive mindset, focus on holistic development, and harness their potential to achieve great success.
Prof. Sufi, Principal of PA Polytechnic, shared his valuable insights, reminding the students of the importance of technical education and its relevance in today’s fast-evolving world.
Dr. Swadique, Director of the Abate Group of Hospitals and an internationally recognized ophthalmologist, delivered an inspiring speech. With an illustrious career that spans across multiple countries and academic institutions, he highlighted the importance of perseverance, continuous learning, and staying updated with advancements in one’s field.
Dr. Sallimulla Khan, Principal of PA Pharmacy, shared his thoughts on the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, urging students to think beyond their field of study and engage with diverse disciplines to broaden their knowledge and perspective.
Dr. Syed Ameen, the Dean of Student Affairs at PA Education Trust, addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of student welfare throughout their time at PA College of Engineering. He assured the students that the institution is committed to providing a supportive environment where they can thrive academically and personally.
The highlight of the event was the presidential remarks delivered by Dr. Ramis M. K., Principal of PA College of Engineering. In his speech, he congratulated the new students on joining the institution and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunities available to them. Dr. Ramis emphasized the college’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation, and urged the students to actively participate in the college’s academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities to enhance their learning experience.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Razeena Begam, Head of the Department of Chemistry, who expressed her gratitude to all the dignitaries, faculty members, students, and parents for making the event a success. She acknowledged the hard work and effort put in by everyone involved in organizing the event.
The event concluded with a reminder to the students that their journey had just begun, and that the possibilities ahead were endless. They were encouraged to embrace the challenges, seize every opportunity, and strive for excellence in all their endeavours. The program ended on a patriotic note, with the audience standing for the National Anthem.
