Social Connect and Responsibility Activity: Plantation Drive on 13 September 2024
The Department of Civil Engineering P. A. College of Engineering organized a Social Connect and Responsibility activity focusing on a plantation drive for 3rd Sem Civil Engineering on 13 September 2024 to encourage environmental awareness among them. The students were divided into six teams, with each team planting a different type of plant at designated locations across the campus, including flowering plants, shade trees, and medicinal plants.
The activity was supervised by Prof. Safa Sana, Prof. Kavyashree and Mr. Rudresh- Campus Supervisor, who guided the students through the plantation process and shared valuable insights about the importance of greenery and conservation. After plantation Mr. Rudresh led a tour of the entire campus plantation area, explaining the significance of various plants, their role in maintaining ecological balance, and the efforts required to sustain them. The event effectively promoted social responsibility, teamwork, and practical knowledge about environmental sustainability, inspiring students to contribute to a greener campus and understand the value of maintaining green spaces.
