AICTE ATAL FDP on Machine Learning in Biometric Systems Concludes

The 6-day AICTE ATAL Faculty Development Program on "Machine Learning Approaches to Secured Multimodal Biometric Systems”, marked by insightful sessions & engaging discussions with distinguished resource persons with high level of expertise came to a successful conclusion with the valedictory program conducted on 16th December 2023. The esteemed guests for the program were Prof D. S. Guru, Department of Studies in Computer Science, University of Mysore and founder trustee of Maharaja Education Trust, Mysore. The program was graced by the presence of Prof H.S. Nagendraswamy, Department of Studies in Computer Science, University of Mysore and Dr Manjunath, Principal Engineer, Samsung Electro mechanics, Bangalore.
The event began with a soulful prayer by Prof. Saifudeen from the department of Computer Science Engineering. Prof. Fathimath Raihan, compere of the program, extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, faculties and the participants, expressing gratitude for their active participation.
Dr. Sharmila Kumari, coordinator and Vice Principal, P. A. College of Engineering presented the report of the FDP summarizing the key topics covered, highlighting the expertise of the resource persons, and expressing gratitude to the organizing committee and participants for their contributions.
Prof. Prathiba Rao from the Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science and Commerce, Prof Alhaji Idi Babate from Mangalore University and Dr. Afsar Baig from the department of AIML, P. A. College of Engineering, who were among the participants of the FDP, had the opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences during the FDP. The feedback session was crucial in understanding the impact of the program and identifying areas for improvement in future endeavours.
Prof. D.S. Guru, in his address, lauded the dedication and perseverance of Dr. Sharmila, the coordinator, for the well-organized FDP. He further conveyed to actively utilize the knowledge obtained from the FDP for their research prospects. His address provided valuable perspectives for both faculty members and participants.
Prof. H.S. Nagendraswamy & Prof. Manjunath enlightened the audience on the role of guides /mentors in research and motivated the participants on being diligent and dedicated in their research work, always putting forth genuine hard work.
The Principal, Dr. Ramis M.K, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the importance of such FDPs in fostering collaboration in research culture striving for academic excellence within the institution.
Prof. Ankitha from the department of Computer Science and Engineering, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished guests, resource persons, participants, and the organizing committee for their unwavering support and active participation in making the FDP a success.
