P. A. College of Engineering, in collaboration with BT Alumni, IEEE, EMBS, IIC, KTECH-NAIN Centre at PACE, and Biotech Pace Forum, orchestrated the Industry Institute Interaction: 2023 and Student Mind Sensitization Program on Artificial Intelligence in Biotechnology on November 3, 2023. A total of 24 students, 9 alumni, and 4 faculty members participated in the hybrid mode interaction.

Mr. Mohammed Asfaque, the Director of Natura, USA, and President of the Biotech Alumni Association, delivered a keynote address. The coordination of the event was overseen by Dr. Krishna Prasad N, Professor, and Head of the Department of Biotechnology at PACE, Mangaluru. Sahla CA, an entrepreneur specializing in Tissue culture and AI Professional from Nimma Biotech in Bengaluru, shared her journey from being a Tissue Culture Entrepreneur to an Artificial Intelligence Professional. She provided insights into real-world applications of AI in bioprocessing, agriculture, medicine, drug discovery, genomics, proteomics, and medical imaging. Sahla emphasized the essential skill sets for young biotech graduates aspiring to become AI professionals and presented a hands-on case study on categorizing tumors as either malignant or benign. Dr. Krishna Prasad concluded the event with his remarks.
